Founded March 1, 2019, our objective is to be an exciting and interesting writers group that will inspire local writers, or anyone curious about writing, to improve their skills and increase their knowledge and understanding of the craft.

The Elgin Writers Guild welcomes anyone interested in the art of writing. Our members range from raw beginners to accomplished authors (roughly 14% of us have published). We write everything from fiction, nonfiction, poetry, mystery, sci-fi/fantasy and memoire, to news and academic papers.

The Guild was inspired by the Windon Fund within the Elgin-St. Thomas Community Foundation, and operates with support from the St. Thomas Public Library.
